Welcome back everybody. Today I'm going
to teach you how to add an image to a
product category in WooCommerce
WordPress. This is a great way to make
your online store look more professional
and help customers quickly identify
different product categories at a
glance. Let's get started. First, open
your browser and navigate to
WordPress.com. Once you're there, go
ahead and sign into your account if you
haven't already. Make sure you're
logging into the account where your
WooCommerce store is set up, as this is
where you'll be managing all your
product categories and their images.
After you've successfully logged in,
direct your attention to the left
navigation menu. Here you'll find
various options for managing your
WordPress site. Look for the option
labeled products and click on it. This
will expand a submen with several
choices related to your store's
inventory. From the options that appear,
click on categories. This section is
specifically designed for organizing
your products into different groups,
making it easier for customers to browse
your store. You'll now be on the
categories creation page, and the
process from here is pretty
straightforward. Start by filling in the
name of your new category in the
provided field. This could be anything
like electronics, clothing, or home
decor, depending on what you're selling.
Next, add a slug for the category. The
slug is essentially the URL friendly
version of your category name, and it
helps with search engine optimization.
After that, you'll want to set the
parent category if this new category
falls under a broader group. For
example, if you're creating a category
called smartphones, you might set
electronics as the parent category.
Below that, there's a description field
where you can add more details about
what products this category includes.
This is helpful for both you and your
customers. Now, scroll a bit further
down the page and you'll see the
thumbnail image upload section. This is
the key part where you actually add the
image to your product category. Simply
click on the upload area and you'll be
able to select an image from your
computer or media library. Choose an
image that best represents the category
you're creating as this will be
displayed on your store's front end.
Once the image is added and you're happy
with all the details you've entered,
simply click on add new category. This
action will create the category with the
image attached to it and it will now be
visible in your WooCommerce store with
its custom thumbnail. And that's it.
You've successfully added an image to
your product category in WooCommerce
WordPress. This simple addition can
really enhance the visual appeal of your
store and improve the shopping
